(Luxemburg, WI) June 15 — Luxemburg Speedway track officials are busy putting the final touches on the annual Badger State Showdown presented by CZ’s Bushville Lanes Thursday June 24 and Friday June 25.

The traditional two day special boasts the highest paying IMCA sanctioned event in Wisconsin history. More than $30,000 will be doled out in the two day show between four divisions. The winner of the IMCA modified feature Friday night will be placed on the Fastshaft All Star ballot for the race of champions at the IMCA Supernationals at Boone (IA) Speedway in September of 2011.

“What some drivers like is that it’s still essentially two complete shows,” said track manager Rick Goral. Both nights will dole out IMCA state, regional and national points while the Friday night program will also run for track points. A draw/redraw format will be used both nights.

Friday night’s show will pay $1,300 and $900 to the modified and stock car feature winners, respectively. The sportmod feature winner will receive $700 to win Friday and the hobby stock feature winner will receive $500.

There will be various contingency awards from several racing manufacturers and sponsors.

Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. For more information call 920 660 8095. Please check the track website at luxemburgspeedway.com. Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off state highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg.

(Luxemburg, WI) June 11 — Luxemburg Speedway track manager Rick Goral is hoping that Robinson Metals night June 18 at the third-mile, clay oval might shake the weather jinx that has plagued the track all season.

To date, five of eight scheduled races have been rained out in 2010. “Two years ago I believe we had seven rainouts, but to have this many right out of the box is pretty tough,” said Goral. “We’re hoping our luck will change, and the sooner the better.”

As they have in past years, Robinson Metals will throw in some extra money into the features in the respective classes. IMCA modifieds will have $300, $200 and $100 thrown into the top three feature positions while the stock cars will have $200, $125 and $75 thrown into the top three feature finishers.

In addition, northern sportmods will have $125, $75 and $50 thrown into the top three feature finishers while hobby stocks will have $75, $50 and $25 thrown in.

Sport fours will have $50, $30 and $20 thrown into the top three feature finishers, respectively. “Keep in mind this is money above and beyond our regular purse, so the top finishers will have a fairly decent payday this Friday,” said Goral.

A kid’s coin toss will take place on the track at intermission.

Racing gets underway Friday at 7 p.m. For more information call 920 845 2300. Please check the track website at luxemburgspeedway.com. Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off state highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg.
