(Luxemburg, WI) March 15 – A car show April 3 at Green Bay’s East Town Mall will officially kick off the 2011 racing season for Luxemburg Speedway.

The show will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the mall’s parking lot, and is open to all cars. “This thing has really grown in the past couple of years we’ve run it,” said track manager Rick Goral. “Some nice weather will certainly help draw the fans out, and we hand out schedules and such.”

Best appearing car trophies will be handed out to drivers in the IMCA modifieds, stock cars, sportmods, hobby stocks and sport fours. An open class will also be included in this as there will also be a “Long Haul” cash award for the driver who tows the furthest to show off his or her machine.

The season opens up Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m. An open practice session will take place Friday, April 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. and is open to cars in any division. Among the highlights of the season schedule will be the return of the WDLMA style late models on Friday, August 26. “Manitowoc is not running them that night so we are expecting a pretty solid field,” said Goral. “Fans have been asking for their return here for years and now we’re bringing them back.”

Also a “Topless” modified and sportmod race will take place June 17. Drivers will cut the roofs off of their cars so fans can really see the cars with a unique look to them. Extra pay will be doled out in all divisions that night.

Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off state highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. You can check us out on Facebook and at our website For more information call 920 660 8095.
