(Third-mile clay oval will attempt to host only it’s 2nd race in five weeks)

(Luxemburg, WI) May 15 — With Mother Nature’s blessing, Luxemburg Speedway track officials are hoping they can get their second night of racing in in five weeks on Friday, May 20 as 54 Run in Walhain sponsors the special appearance of the street stocks beginning at 7 p.m.

Among the most frustrated of all is track manager Rick Goral, who has been battling cold, wet weather for several weeks now only to get one show in. “I would expect to be racing this week,” said Goral. “I checked the track on Sunday and it seems to be getting firmer below the surface each day, even after the rains we had on Saturday.”

Kewaunee County employees will be working on the third-mile, clay oval again this week to take care of the remaining soft areas. With a dry week weatherwise scheduled that should most likely aid their efforts.

Opening night winners two weeks ago included Luxemburg’s Jeremy Jacobs in IMCA modifieds, Pulaski’s Junior Karcz in IMCA stock cars, New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach in IMCA northern sportmods, Casco’s Derek Moede in IMCA hobby stocks and Oconto Falls’ Brian Johnson in the sport fours.

Racing begins at 7 p.m. IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods, hobby stocks and sport fours will compete weekly.
