Street Stocks and Big Wheels at Luxemburg Speedway

(Luxemburg, WI)- This Friday Night August 10th, Luxemburg Speedway will have an action packed night. The IMCA Modifieds will be competing for the 1st Annual Bob Thielke Memorial Race commemorative trophy. The IMCA Stockcar and IMCA Sportmod feature winners will pocket an extra $100 in honor of Thielke. The Street Stocks make their return to the speedway. Kids will have their chance to take to the clay at intermission in the annual Big Wheel race. Races start at 7 p.m.

This will be the 1st annual Bob Thielke Memorial Race for the IMCA Modifieds. Bob was a friend of some of the local racers and lost his life in a motorcycle accident. The IMCA Modifieds will be running for a custom made trophy. Last week saw R.M. Van Pay get into the winners column for the first time in 2012. Van Pay outlasted Benji LaCrosse to take the win. Shawn Kilgore is the point leader over Sean Jerovetz by a slim margin.

John Heinz picked up his third win of the season last week in a close battle with Troy Muench. Heinz picked up 1 point on Muench and trails by 10 coming into this week.

Josh Long won his second IMCA Sportmod feature of the season last Friday. He beat J.J. Anderson back to the finish line by a bumper. Brad Lautenbach holds the division points lead by 6 over Brian Bruechert.

“Mr. Consistency” Tom Brumlic increased his point lead in the IMCA Hobby Stock division. He picked up his second win last week after a hard fought battle with Scott Boulanger.

Calvin Stueck won the 4 Cylinder feature by a half lap last Friday. Ralph Liegeois is still the man to beat in the points chase.
