(Luxemburg, WI) June 3 — Luxemburg’s Benji LaCrosse passed Seymour’s Brian Mullen for the lead on lap 12 and went on to capture the 25 lap IMCA modified feature at on Miller Beer night Luxemburg Speedway Friday night. LaCrosse became the first repeat winner of the year in the division.

Shawano’s Shawn Wagner and Abrams’ Scott “Scooter” Boyea each netted clean sweeps in the IMCA stock car and northern sportmod classes, respectively.

110 Cars showed up to compete, including 23 IMCA modifieds, 24 stock cars, 33 northern sportmods, 19 hobby stocks and 11 sport fours.

Green Bay’s Kyle Lentz led the early going in the IMCA modified main with Mullen wrestling the lead away on a lap seven restart. LaCrosse, who started in row six, quickly sliced his way through the field, moving into second by lap ten. LaCrosse worked his way past Mullen with ten laps to go and captured the win. Mullen finished second, followed by De Pere’s Jay Matthias, Green Bay’s Jared Siefert and Luxemburg’s Jeremy Jacobs.

For the second straight week Wagner pulled off the IMCA stock car feature win. It was Wagner’s fourth straight win in as many nights of racing at northeast Wisconsin tracks. Wagner pulled a hat trick a week ago winning at Luxemburg, Shawano and Seymour Speedways.

Ironically it was an old high school chum of Wagner’s who he wound up passing for the win, Brandon Czarapata. Wagner drover around Czarapata with three laps to go and sealed the win. Kewaunee’s Greg Gretz snuck inside of Czarapata to snatch second away at the line. Czarapata took third. Pulaski’s Junior Karcz took fourth while Union’s Troy Muench battled his way through the field after qualifying into the main through a last chance race and took fifth.

Boyea netted a clean sweep in the IMCA northern sportmod division, winning both his heat and leading every lap en route to victory in the 20 lap contest. Oconto’s Jeremy Cota stormed through the field from row four into second by lap 10. Cota dogged Boyea for the balance of the contest but wound up second at the pay window. Rookie Chad Kaminski of Luxemburg took third, followed by Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz who debuted a 2012 Harris chassis, and Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert, who was wheeling Jerovetz’s car from one season ago.

Denmark’s Tom Brumlic squeezed inside of Luxemburg’s Marcus Moede coming out of turn four as the checkered flag flew and nabbed the IMCA hobby stock feature win. Moede settled for second, followed by Mitch Vandermause of Luxemburg, Luxemburg’s Wes Salentine and Algoma’s Travis Hackett.

Oconto’s Ralph Liegois won his second sport four feature. The race was halted when Mishicot’s Jason Dondlinger rolled his racer several times before coming to a halt in turn four. He escaped unhurt.

The IMCA hobby stock feature was halted on lap three when Alicia Wichman flipped her racer in turn three. She escaped unhurt but her car sustained significant damage.

Racing resumes next Friday night, June 10 with Robinson Metals night at 7 p.m. Extra money will be thrown into the top three feature finishing positions all five divisions.
