Luxemburg,WI, 7/4/13–Beautiful weather greeted thirty six Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series drivers along with a field of twenty two modifieds. AJ Diemel made it a home coming by leading all thirty laps of the late model feature and scoring the winners share of the purse. Diemel, originally from Navarino Wisconsin, now calls Menominee Wisconsin home. Diemel raced his way to the pole starting position of the feature by winning his heat race and the Quick 6 race. Diemel’s good friend Nick Anvelink pursued Diemel the entire race, but could not get close enough to make a serious challenge for the lead. The only thing to slow Diemel down was traffic as worked his way through the back of the field lapping cars. On lap twenty Diemel got tangled up with Doug Herrick as a slowing Herrick brought out the caution flag. Diemel suffered damage the nose of his car but was not slowed as the race went back to green. Diemel was not challenged for the duration of the race on his way to victory lane. Anvelink finished a solid second. Jason Feger raced his way to third after starting the race in seventh. Tom Naeyaert and Troy Springborn rounded out the top five.

Troy Jerovetz snuck underneath James Lee Tebon to grab the early lead in the modified feature. Caution came out on lap five sending Brad Theys to pit lane with body damage. As the race was about to restart Jerovetz could not refire as he had transmission issues. Tebon restarted as the race leader and put some distance between himself and Tyler Hackett, Todd Dart, and Jeremy Jacobs. As the race went on Hackett was able to reel in Tebon. Hackett used the outside line to pull even with Tebon numerous times, but Tebon held the advantage over Hackett to win the race. Hackett had to settle for second. Dart finished third. Sean Jerovetz finished fourth after starting the race in sixteenth. Chad Bartel came home fifth.
Racing will continue tonight with a 7:00 start time. IMCA Stock Cars and Street Stocks will race along with the Corn Belt Clash late models.
