June 14, 2002; Luxemburg, WI. - After seven consecutive nights of racing Mother Nature reared her ugly head, emptying the skies Thursday night at all day Friday, forcing officials from Lakeshore Motorsports Promotions to cancel the stock car races at Luxemburg Speedway Friday night. The Miller beer nightly sponsorship will now join with Concrete Finishers for the Mid-season showdown next Friday night at 7 p.m. Five classes of racing will be on hand, including IMCA modifieds and stock cars, street stocks, bombers and trucks all be competing next Friday night. As in past seasons with the mid-season showdown, drivers in the IMCA modified, IMCA stock car and street stock divisions will be racing for increased purse money. Also, Miller beer, through Triangle Distributing, has donated a ton of door prizes for the fans.
