Luxemburg, WI. - "Taking a bit out of crime" will take to
the race track on Friday night, May 31 at Luxemburg Speedway as the third-mile, clay oval
will host the track's first ever Crime Prevention night.
The Bumper to Bumper Automotive Stores night that was scheduled for May 31 will be
rescheduled for a date to be announced in June.
Representatives from the Brown County Crime Prevention Association (B.C.C.P.A.) will be on
hand and will have stations set up under the grandstand prior to the races for kids to get
fingerprinted from 5:30 p.m.until the races start at 7 p.m. McGruff the Crime Dog will
also be on hand to greet children and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) car
sponsored by the Green Bay Packers will be on hand.
"What we end of giving is a little tri-fold type deal that contains a copy of the
children's fingerprints for their parents records," said Dave Burns, President of
B.C.C.P.A. " This information does not end up in any kind of database. It also has
space for dental and medical records and other information as well."
Also, IMCA modified driver Scott "Scooter" Boyea will have his
D.A.R.E.-sponsored IMCA modified on display under the grandstands prior to racing. There
will be several giveaways for kids throughout the course of the evening. The 50/50 drawing
will be held that evening, with one-half of the proceeds going to benefit B.C.C.C.A.,
which is a non-profit organization.
IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, street stocks and the track's new sport four class will
compete beginning at 7 p.m. For more information call 920 963 8446. The track phone is 920
