IMCA Mods, Stocks Get Pay Raise at Luxemburg June 7th!
By Joe Verdegan

June 2, 2002; Luxemburg, WI. - While the much anticipated return of the late models to Luxemburg Speedway June 7 for the Woody's Signs/Engine Rebuilding Services "Battle of The 'Burg" track manager Rick Goral hasn't forgotten to take care of the other two divisions that will be running that evening.

Goral announced that the top five finishers in both the IMCA modifieds and IMCA stock cars will receive pay increases over what is normally doled out on Friday nights. The IMCA modified feature on June 7 will pay $450-to-win while the IMCA stock car main feature winner will take home $335. Positions second through fifth will also see significant pay increases.

"We're throwing about $700 into the top five finishers in those two classes that night," said Goral. "The modifieds and stock cars have put on such great shows every Friday night so this is just a small gesture to say thanks for those guys. They've provided us with healthy car counts and some exciting feature finishes."

So far in six weeks of racing the IMCA modifieds have not had a repeat winner, while Eric Van Iten of Green Bay has been the only other repeat feature winner in the stock cars. Both the IMCA modifieds and IMCA stock cars will be racing a full points night on June 7.

A 50 lap late model feature will highlight the evening's action, complete with trackside driver introductions and post race, trackside trophy presentations. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $10.00, students and senior tickets are $7.00 while kids 5-12 are $3.00.
