By Joe Verdegan

March 25, 2002; Luxemburg, WI. - Promoters of the new Luxemburg Speedway have scheduled a car show and safety inspection Saturday, April 13 from nine a.m. to four p.m. at the track, which is located at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg.

The car show and inspection is open to any division that will compete at the third-mile, clay oval this year.

Divisions include IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars and street stocks which will compete weekly while the sport trucks, bombers and the track's new, four cylinder class called sport fours will compete every third week.

"We're going to award trophies for the best appearing cars in each division," said track manager Rick Goral.

"We've even got one for the new sport fours. I don't expect too many guys to have those cars done yet but

we've got a trophy for the best appearing car, should any four cylinder sport fours show up."

The inspection, which will take place behind the grandstand, will focus primarily on safety. "We're basically concerned with the basic safety equipment," said Goral. "Safety is something that won't be overlooked."

For those who cannot make the safety inspection on April 13 Goral and his staff will host a special mid-week safety inspection on Wednesday evening, April 24 from 5 p.m. until dusk at the track.

The season opener at Luxemburg Speedway will be Friday night, April 26 at 7 p.m. The track's website is www.luxemburgspeedway.com. For more information call 920 863 8446. The track phone is 920 845 2300.

The Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds.
