By Joe Verdegan

July 25, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. -  Green Bay's Tim Van De Hei sliced his way from his 18th position and chased down last week's winner Pat Davister with three laps to go and coasted to his first 22 lap IMCA stock car feature at Luxemburg Speedway Friday night. Joe Hegnet was the only winner in IMCA Hobby Stock action this evening taking a heat race win.  Rain washed out the feature race for the division.

Heavy rains fell during the early laps of the IMCA modified feature, forcing track officials to cancel that feature race, along with the IMCA hobby stock and sport four features as well. Points and money were divided equally amongst all three divisions.

131 cars were on hand, including 38 IMCA modifieds, 35 IMCA stock cars, 25 street stocks, 15 IMCA hobby stocks and 18 sport fours.

Davister passed polesitter Brandon Mindak for the lead on lap three and opened up a five car length cushion over the field by lap seven in the IMCA stock car main. Van De Hei had carefully diced his way into third by lap nine and passed Jamie Colwell for second one circuit later. Van De Hei then went to work eating away at Davister's margin, catching him on lap 19. Van De Hei cleanly passed Davister on the outside on lap 20 and went on to collect the victory. Davister took second, followed by Shawn Kilgore, Jason Czarapata and Rod Snellenberger.

Baileys Harbor's Scott Reinhardt kept the lead through a pair of cautions at mid-pack and went on to claim his first 16 lap street stock feature of the season.

Reinhardt's margin of victory at the checkers was four car lengths. A three car tussle ensued in the battle for second at the checkers, which was taken by Dave Hoerning. Fred Davister, who was forced to qualify into the feature through the semi-feature, finished third followed by James Tebon and Tom Daubner, who made his first appearance of the season.

Next Wednesday night the biggest paying modified show in track history will take place during the McCoy's Harley Davidson Modified Classic. A $2,000 payout is on the line to the winner. The stock cars will battle for a $1,500 top prize. A 7 p.m.start time is slated. For more information call 920 863 8446. The track phone number is 920 845 2300.
