Luxemburg Races Washed Out!
By Joe Verdegan

May 9, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. - Persisent rain showers all week long have left Luxemburg Speedwaytrack officials no other choice but to cancel the races scheduled there for Friday, May 9.

Due to the inclement weather all week long track crews were unable to get heavy equipment outon to the third-mile, clay oval to prepare it for racing. "We've got standing water in spots through turns three and four," said track manager Rick Goral. "Rather than even attempt to race we're better off not trying. We  don't need to be tearing up any more race cars on a soft track."

The entire program consisting of IMCA modifieds, stock cars and hobby stocks, street stocks and four cylinder sport fours will resume Friday night, May 16 at 7 p.m. For more information call 920 863 8446. The track phone is 920 845 2300. The track website is www.luxemburgspeedway.com.  Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds.
