January 28, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. - Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint car president Steve Sinclair and Luxemburg Speedway track manager Rick Goral have announced a special sprint car/late model doubleheader at Luxemburg's third-mile, clay oval on Saturday night, June 14. The late models will be WISSOTA sanctioned, marking the sanctioning bodies first ever involvement with the track. The event will mark the IRA's first appearance at the track in more than six years. "We've run several shows over the past couple of seasons with the sprints and the late models and the response has been great," said Sinclair. "With Shawano Speedway off that evening we're hoping that all the fans pack up and head east on highway 29 to catch a pair of premier divisions battle it out." For the late models it will mark four appearances this season for the regionally popular class. And in 2003 it will have a common set of rules with the WISSOTA sanctioning. "The response we had with the show a year ago was tremendous," said Goral. "Now we'll be able to give drivers chasing WISSOTA points four additional healthy paying points shows they can compete at." The show will follow the WISSOTA rulebook. Cars will line up in their feature races using the draw-redraw method for all four shows. Luxemburg Speedway is a semi-banked, third-mile clay oval located 15 minutes east of Green Bay at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. For more information on this event call 920 863 8446.
