May 16, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. -WISSOTA late model drivers who compete in the remaining three special events at Luxemburg Speedway this season will be eligible for a number of cash and contingency awards being posted by track management and a few racing related businesses in eastern Wisconsin. Points have been tallied for the first show which was held May 2. Points will continue to be calculated for the remaining late model shows at the third-mile, clay oval on Friday, June 6, Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, July 13. Gold Star Racing Supplies of Clintonville, Woody's Signs of Sturgeon Bay and DLP Promotions of De Pere have stepped up with a number of awards to be given out to a number of different drivers based upon theirperformance in the four race series. The champion of the four race point series will collect a $500 product certificate from Woody's Signs, alongwith $300 cash from Luxemburg Speedway. In addition, Gold Star Racing Supplies will sponsor the hardcharger award for each of the remaining three feature races. A Performance Bodies nosepiece valued at$100 will be awarded to the driver who passes the most cars in each of the feature races. Also, GSR will dole out $700 worth of product certificates to five randomly drawn points finishers in the top15 positions. The highest points getter drawn will receive a $250 certificate, followed by $200, $150, $100and $50, respectively. DLP Promotions, operated by longtime photographers Dan and Mary Lewis, will donate a free Hot Shot Race Cards package valued at $150 to the top finishing rookie in the late model point standings. Second and third place finishers in the points will receive cash bonuses of $200 and $100, respectively. "No one's going to get rich with this but we hope this is the start of something that can grow," said track manager Rick Goral. "This is just a token to the drivers that support our shows this year." The next race on June 6 will be the "Battle of The 'Burg II", which will pay out $1,500 to the winner and $200to start the 50 lap main event.
