Stout Field Expected for July 30th Luxemburg Modified Classic!
By Joe Verdegan

July 20, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. --  If the large turnout of modifieds and stock cars at Luxemburg Speedway's July 4
Holiday Blowout is any indication the upcoming Luxemburg Modified Classic presented by McCoy's Harley Davidson Wednesday, July 30 will draw even more top notch drivers from northeast Wisconsin.

On July 4th, 49 modifieds and 43 stock cars showed up to do battle. Brian Mullen of Seymour, who's already captured 10 feature wins this year, fought off the other 23 competitors in the 40 lap main to win a $2,200 top prize. Gillett's Kyle Frederick led wire-to-wire in a green-to-checked $1,500 rout in the stock car competition that night, scoring the biggest win of his career.

"The payout is actually a bit more in the middle and on the bottom for the McCoy's show than the July 4th race for these two divisions," said track manager Rick Goral. "Plus the fact that there is no sanction on that night means a few more guys may show up than might otherwise. It's guaranteed to be a big night, no doubt."

A 50 lap modified feature is slated, paying $2,000 to the winner and $100 to start the 24 car main event. 24 cars will also start the 40 lap stock car feature, paying $1,500-to-win and $2,000-to-start.

A draw/redraw format will be utilized. There will be no claims and no sanction that evening. There will be no racing that Friday, August 1 due to the Kewaunee County Fair.

The draw cutoff for driver's on this Wednesday special is 6:40 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7 p.m. Pit passes will be $20.00 with a car and driver entry fee of $30.00.
