Speedway Readies For August 8th Legends Night!

Luxemburg, WI. -- More than one dozen restored coupes, winged
modifieds and sportsman cars will be on display Friday night, August 8 for the second
annual WOGB 103.1 FM Luxemburg Legends night at Luxemburg Speedway.
In addition, more than two dozen retired racers from decades past will be honored, and
will take part in a special Legends race that evening. The Vintage Modified Stock Car
Club, headed up by John Surges of Milwaukee, will have several displays of old photos,
souvenir programs and other racing related items from year's past.
Among the drivers who'll take part in this special night will be De Pere's Bobby Marquis,
Reggie Cochart of Brussels, Don Mahlberg of Green Bay, Red Be Dell of Green Bay, Randy
Guellete of Brussels, Lynn Wolfgram of Sturgeon Bay, Gene Mathu and Augie Derenne of
Luxemburg, Al Jesse of Algoma and Stan Gracyalny of Kaukauna. Many others are expected.
"The response we had last year for this night was overwhelming," said track
manager Rick Goral. "I don't anticipate anything less this year, as there are even
more old, restored race cars expected to be put on display that evening."
WOGB will also be broadcasting live from the track that afternoon.A full program of IMCA
modified, IMCA stock car, IMCA hobby stock and sport four racing will take place,
