April 8, 2003; Luxemburg, WI. - An open practice session scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at Luxemburg Speedway will be open to drivers in any division looking for a chance to shake their cars down on the third-mile, clay oval. A handful of WISSOTA late models are expected to take part in the practice session in anticipation for their four appearances this year. "The late models are on our second night already (May 2) so there won't be too many opportunities for them to practice before that," said track manager Rick Goral. "We might even get a sprint car or two for the practice session. It's free to the public that day. We'll have some concession items on sale for the fans and drivers alike." The starting time of the practice session has been bumped up to 1 p.m. "We'll basically keep running until the track goes away," said Goral. "We put the new clay surface down last fall and this will give us a chance to see how things hold up before our opener on April 25. I don't anticipate the practice session going much past 5 p.m." Prior to the practice session a car show will take place behind the grandstand from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Trophies will be awarded to drivers in the divisions that will compete at the track on a weekly basis. They are IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, IMCA hobby stocks and the four cylinder sport fours. While the spectator admission is free for practice day there will be pit pass fees.
Drivers will pay $15 while pit crew members will be charged $5 to enter the pit area. For
