Speedway Ready for 2005 Season!
By Joe Verdegan |
December 27, 2004;
Luxemburg, WI. - An opener of Friday night, April 29 has been
scheduled for Luxemburg Speedway's third-mile, clay oval located at the Kewaunee County
Fairgrounds in Luxemburg.
As in 2004 IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars, IMCA hobby stocks and four-cylinder sport
fours will compete
each Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. Weekly racing will resume through Labor Day weekend.
A pair of late model specials will once again dot the 2005 schedule. On Friday night, June
10 the fourth annual
Seubert Calf Ranches/Battle of the Burg IV will take place. Last year's event was rained
out. The second late
model show will be Sunday night, July 10. Both shows will be run under the sanction of the
Wisconsin Dirt
Late Model Association (WDLMA) and will feature similiar payouts to year's past.
Something new for Luxemburg Speedway in 2005 will be the Lady 4's, a new division in which
only ladies are
allowed to compete in sport fours. "We plan on having them compete roughly every
other week," said track
manager Rick Goral."I've had quite a few emails from some ladies who are real excited
about this class. They'll
run for full point standings and cannot currently compete in any other division at the
track."
A car show/practice and safety inspection is tentatively slated for Friday night, April 22
at the track. Track officials are in the process of finalizing a season schedule and
expect to have it released in the near future.
