Grounds Soaked.. Racing Resumes Next Week!

Luxemburg, WI. - After receiving over 3-1/2" of rain last night,
the Luxemburg Speedway is forced to cancel tonights race program. Both the track and pit
area remained partially flooded as of noon today.
Tri-County Heating will sponsor the championship night on August 26, which
will include six divisions of racing. Champions will be crowned in all of the divisions.
In IMCA modified action, hometown driver Benji LaCrosse simply needs to qualify for the
feature to clinch his first division crown. LaCrosse has a comfortable 38 point lead over
Algoma's Todd Dart heading into the final night of racing.
Greenleaf's Jamie Colwell holds a slim one point edge over defending track champion Shawn
Kilgore of Kewaunee. Pulaski's Jason Czarapata is third just six points out of first while
fellow Pulaski driver Rod Snellenberger is just nine points from the top.
Sturgeon Bay's Aaron Thornton holds a three point lead over defending series champion Von
Eychenson of Forestville in the street stocks while Zion, Illinois' Tony Schlei has an 11
point lead over hometown driver Dan Davister. Defending sport four champion Greg Banker of
Bonduel has a nine point advantage over Freedom's Tim Jorgenson. Mishicot's Sue Cherney
has a two point lead over Seymour's Amanda Johnson in Lady 4 action.
Next week will be the final track points night for all divisions. The
Street Stock championship will be moved to next weeks program also. Powder Puffs will be
run time permitting.
All six divisions will be in action next Friday night beginning at 7 p.m.
The final regular season race will be the following THURSDAY night, Sept. 1, which will
include an IMCA Modified Special with $1000 to win and $125 start. Extra pay for the
Stocks, Hobby's and Sport 4's. This show will be IMCA sanctioned with state and national
points.-
