CLASSIC
By Joe Verdegan |
September 13, 2005;
Luxemburg, WI. - More than $24,000 in prize money will be doled out
to drivers in six classes during the Fall Classic at Luxemburg Speedway September 30 and
October 1 sponsored by Pepsi and Budweiser. The unique two day format will be highlighted
by feature races both nights. On Friday night drivers will be racing their way into the
Saturday night features. "The number we'll be transferring will be based upon the car
count," said track manager Rick Goral. "This way the fans will get to see
feature racing on Friday night as well, as opposed to just watching heat races."
IMCA-style mods will go 40 laps Saturday night with $1,500 going to the winner. IMCA-style
stock cars will payout $750-to-win with $75 to start. In addtion, IMCA-style hobby stocks,
street stocks, sport four compacts and a sixth division blending rules for the Chilton
Challengers, Eastern 8's that compete at Manitowoc and the 141 Speedway hobby stocks will
compete both nights. "The basic rule of thumb with the sport four and
challenger-type classes is that you can use your track rules," said Goral. "We
won't allow mixing and matching of rules."
Street stocks must be legal at either Seymour, Thunder Hill, Powercom Speedzone or
Chilton. For 4 cylinder cars, Luxemburg, Thunder Hill, Seymour or 141 sport four rules
will apply. A draw/redraw format will be used during both days of racing. Pit passes will
be $25 per day or $40 for a two day pass. Racing starts Friday night at 6:30 p.m. with
racing getting underway at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday night. Hot laps will be run both nights
approximately 45 minutes to one hour prior to race time. The grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m.
Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
