Nick Anvelink Captures
Luxemburg Late Model Special!

2007; Luxemburg, WI. - Bonduel's Nick Anvelink
passed Shawano's Tom Naeyaert for the lead on lap 24 and skillfully
weaved through lapped cars to win the caution free, 40 lap Seubert
Calf Ranches late model special at Luxemburg Speedway Friday night.
A total of 91 cars were in the pits, including 18 late models, 30
IMCA modifieds, 24 stock cars and 19 northern sportmods.

Late Model
#15 Nick Anvelink, Bonduel, passed Tom Naeyaert, Shawano, in lap

Nick
Anvelink, who started sixth, caught up to race leader Tom
Naeyaert on lap 22 and passed him two laps later to take the
lead. Anvelink worked his way through lapped traffic the rest of
the way to take the win. Naeyaert, who won here Friday night in
a Fastrak Late Model event,
took second, followed by Russ Scheffler, Troy Springborn and
Pete Parker.
Hometown driver Benji LaCrosse swept action in the IMCA modified
division, as the defending track, regional and national IMCA
modified champion passed Shawano's David Werbelow on lap fifteen
to claim his first 25 lap IMCA Modified
feature of the year here.
By lap 13 of the IMCA Mod feature, #54 Benji LaCrosse had chased
down race leader #22x David Werbelow for the lead.
LaCrosse drove around Werbelow for the top spot on lap fifteen
and went on to build a comfortable cushion to claim the win.
Northern Sportmod #5 Eugene Gregorich took his time taking the
outside line away from #2 Travis Cain and went on for his fourth
feature win at the Burg in 2007.
Kewaunee's Eugene Gregorich passed Tim Jorgenson for the lead on
the final lap to capture his fourth 18 lap IMCA Northern
Sportmod feature of the season. Trailing at the checkers were
Jorgenson, Eric Arneson, Travis Cain and Marcus Yarie.
Pulaski's Rod Snellenberger won his third 22 lap IMCA stock car
feature of the season here. The victory went green-to-checkered
without a caution.

Polesitter Russ Scheffler of Waukesha paced
the opening 13 laps of the contest until Naeyeart whisked by to take
the lead on lap 13. Anvelink, who started sixth, caught up to
Naeyaert on lap 22 and passed him two laps later to take the lead.
Anvelink worked his way through lapped traffic the rest of the way
to take the win. Naeyeart, who won here Friday night in a Fastrak
late model event, took second, followed by Scheffler, Troy

Shawano's Dave Werbelow outraced fellow front row starter Art
Siefert to the lead at the drop of the green. While Werbelow
maintained the lead Siefert kept his racer stuck to the bottom. By
lap 13 Benji LaCrosse had stormed through the pack from 10th into
second, as he worked the high line chasing Werbelow for the lead.
LaCrosse drove around Werbelow for the top spot on lap fifteen and
went on to build a comfortable cushion to claim the win.

lead on lap 10 and went on to win his third 22 lap IMCA stock car
feature of the season here. The victory went green-to-checkered
without a caution. Davister settled for second place money, followed
by Charlie Kroll, Jay Matthias and Jesse Colwell.

There will be no racing on Friday, July 20 due to the Kewaunee
County Fair. Weekly racing will resume Friday, July 27 on Dorsch
Ford Kia night at the track. All five weekly divisions will be in
action, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday night with racing
