Luxemburg Speedway Race Report

Nick Anvelink Nabs Luxemburg FASTRAK!

September 15, 2007; Luxemburg, WI. --  Navarino's Nick Anvelink passed Troy Springborn for the lead on lap 14 and went on to win the caution free 30 lap Fastrak late model feature at Luxemburg Speedway Friday night.  A total of 220 cars competed during the two day show.

Fastrak LM #58 Navarino's Nick Anvelink won the 30-lap Fastrak Late Model feature at Luxemburg Speedway Saturday night.
It was his second LM win at the Burg in 2007, taking the July 15th open LM event win also.

In the closing laps of the mod feature, #19c Clintonville's Jeremy Hedrick sifted his way through lapped cars and fought off #x Mike Wedelstadt of Hortonville to pick up the 35-lap Modified feature.

Defending IMCA SuperNationals Northern SportMod Champion #30 Tracy Wassenberg of Shawano took the lead away from #118 Tim Jorgenson and #56 Dean Maurer to win the division's 25-lap feature race.

#121 Andy Kleczka and #14x Jeff Behm swapped the lead in the Sport Four feature.

Clintonville's Jeremy Hedrick sifted his way through lapped cars and fought off Mike Wedelstadt of Hortonville to pick up the 35 lap modified feature. Wedelstadt took second, followed by  Luxemburg's Benji LaCrosse, Seymour's Brian Mullen and track champion Jared Siefert of Green Bay.

IMCA stock car track champion Jamie Colwell of Greenleaf fought off his brother Jesse Colwell in the waning laps to win the caution free, 30 lap stock car feature.

Defending IMCA Supernationals northern sportmod champion Tracy Wassenberg of Shawano took the lead on a restart with two laps to go to win the division's 25 lap feature.

Race leader Tim Jorgenson, the track champion for 07', spun with one lap to go but wound up finishing third as a yellow flew after the white flag was displayed. Green Bay's Todd Everard dodged two cautions and fought off Shannon Guillette and Fred Davister to win the 25 lap street stock feature.

Track champion Jesse Kanas passed hometown driver Dave De Grave with two laps remaining to win the caution free, 22 lap hobby stock feature. Green Bay's Lee Kielpakowski won the

Eastern 8 feature while Clintonville's Jeff Behm won the sport four main event.

The final event at the track for the 2007 campaign will be the Tisler Salvage compact enduro

Saturday, October 13. The event, which will pay $5,000 to the winner, will commence at 2 p.m. The track phone is 920 845 2300. The track website is luxemburgspeedway.com. Luxemburg Speedway is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay off highway 54 in Luxemburg.
