Luxemburg Readies for Two Day

2007; Luxemburg, WI. -Officials from Lakeshore Motorsports
Promotions are busy putting the final touches on the second annual
Badger State Showdown presented by CZ's Bushville Lanes at Luxemburg
Speedway June 7 and 8.
With more than $30,000 in cash and contingency products on the line
the two day special will be the largest paying IMCA sanctioned event
in Wisconsin history. IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods
and hobby stocks will do battle on the third-mile, clay oval located
at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds. Drivers will compete for
national, regional and state points both nights, with drivers also
earning track points on Friday night.
"Both nights will be two complete shows," said track manager Rick
Goral. "The draw-redraw format will also be employed both nights in
all four divisions." Friday night feature laps will be extended as
modifieds will run 35 laps, stock cars 30, hobby stocks 22 and
northern sportmods 20, respectively. Modifieds will battle for a
$1,000 top prize Thursday night while $2,000 awaits the winner of
the big feature Friday night. Stock cars will battle for $700
and $1,300 on Thursday and Friday nights, respectively while
northern sportmods will race for $300 and $700 to win on their
respective nights.
The feature winning pay for the hobby stocks is $275 and $550,
respectively.
The defending race winners of this event are De Pere's Jay Matthias
in IMCA modifieds, Pulaski's Jason Czarapata in IMCA stock cars and
Denmark's Tom Brumlic in the IMCA hobby stocks.
Adult admission is
$9.00 Thursday and $12.00 Friday. Senior admission is $7.00 Thursday
and $9.00 Friday. Student admission is $5.00 Thursday and $7.00
Friday. Kids 10 and under are free both nights with a paid adult.
The pit area opens at 4 p.m. both days with racing getting underway
