LaCrosse Scores Second IMCA
Mod Sweep at Luxemburg!

May 16, 2008; Luxemburg, WI. -- For
the second time this season hometown driver Benji LaCrosse netted a
clean
sweep of activities in the IMCA modified division at Luxemburg
Speedway Friday night.. LaCrosse passed Billy LeMieux of Sturgeon
Bay for the lead on lap 14 to win the 25 lap IMCA modified feature.
A total of 158 cars attended the opening night
races, including 37 IMCA modifieds, 43 stock cars, 32 northern
sportmods,
21 hobby stocks and 25 sport fours.

Luxemburg’s #54 Benji LaCrosse had to battle Seymour’s #70 Mike
Mullen to get to race leader #3L Billy LeMieux of Sturgeon Bay
to win the 25-lap IMCA Modified feature.

Bushville's Tim Czarnecki barrel rolled his IMCA Modified
several times in the front- stretch during a semi-feature.
Czarnecki emerged unhurt but the car sustained significant
damage.

Green Bay's Troy
Jerovetz won his second straight 20-lap IMCA Northern Sport Mod
feature. Adam White wound up second, followed by Tim Jorgensen,
Travis Cain and Tracy Wassenberg.
Green Bay's #01 Troy Jerovetz held off a hard-charging Oconto
Falls’ #11 Adam White in the closing laps of the IMCA Northern
Sport Modified feature.

Brian Bruechert won Friday night’s IMCA Stock Car feature,
picking up first place money and a bonus check as well.
Greenleaf's Jesse Colwell took second, followed by Pierrard,
Jamie Cowell and Matt Junio.

Kewaunee's
#5 Brian Bruechert passed #25 Mike Pierrard of Green Bay for the
lead on lap 10 and hung on to win the 22-lap IMCA Stock Car
feature.
Green Bay’s Bob Schampers snatched up one of five heat race wins
on Friday night. The significance was it was his first in 35
years!

Dave DeGrave won his third straight, 18-lap IMCA Hobby Stock
feature.
Luxemburg's #40d Dave DeGrave passed #19 Scott Boulanger for the
lead on lap seven and went on to win his third straight, 18-lap
IMCA Hobby Stock feature.

The Sport Four feature was cancelled due to rain, but the heats
got in their portion of the show. #20 Ian Lassanske had his
hands full with #40 Phil Martzahl, Freedom, in the second of
three heat races. |
LeMieux shot into the lead at the drop of the green from the pole
position. LeMieux held the lead through three early yellows. On a
lap four restart Seymour's Mike Mullen slipped into the lead with
LaCrosse hot on his heels. LeMieux repassed Mullen for the lead
using the high line on lap seven. LaCrosse also went to the top and
tried to keep LeMieux in his sights.
LaCrosse reeled in LeMieux on lap 14 and ducked underneath LeMieux
for the lead. LaCrosse kept all challengers
at bay to collect his second feature flag here of the season. Brian
Mullen emerged triumphant in a late race battle with his son Mike
Mullen to take second. LeMieux settled for fourth while defending
track champion Jared Siefert rounded out the top five finishers.
Kewaunee's Brian Bruechert passed Mike Pierrard of Green Bay for the
lead on lap 10 and hung on to win the 22 lap IMCA stock car feature.
Greenleaf's Jesse Colwell took second, after having to qualify into
the feature by winning a semi feature. Colwell was followed by
Pierrard, Jamie Cowell and Matt Junio.
Green Bay's Troy Jerovetz passed Marcus Yarie for
the lead on lap six and held on through a pair of cautions to win
his second straight 20 lap IMCA Northern sportmod feature. Adam
White applied pressure at the end but wound up second, followed by
Tim Jorgensen, Travis Cain and Tracy Wassenberg.
Luxemburg's Dave De Grave passed Scott Boulanger for the lead on lap
seven and went on to win his third straight, 18 lap IMCA hobby stock
feature.
The sport four feature was cancelled due to rain.
The purse money and points were divided evenly by all the feature
drivers.
Bushville's Tim Czarnecki barrel rolled his IMCA
modified several times in the frontstretch during a semi feature.
Czarnecki emerged unhurt but the car sustained significant damage.
