Hedrick Hustles to Luxemburg Mod Victory!

May 23, 2008; Luxemburg, WI. -- Shawano's Jeremie Hedrick fought off a fierce challenge from Seymour's Mike Mullen in the early going and fought off a late charging Shawn Kilgore to win the 25 lap IMCA modified feature at Luxemburg Speedway Friday night.

In the IMCA Modified feature, #c19 Jeremie Hedrick led the pack on a late race restart with #70 Mike Mullen and #1 Scott Mullen hot in his tracks. Hedrick held on for the win, his first 2008 feature win at Luxemburg Speedway.

IMCA Northern Sport Mod #30 Tracy Wassenberg, Shawano, held off #11w Adam White on his way to his first main event win at the Burg Friday night. It was Tracy’s first Sport Mod feature win at Luxemburg.

It was a “blast from the past” seeing #8 “Hard Chargin’” Charlie Kroll work his way up to the front of the IMCA Stock Car feature and kept the win away from #67 Jesse Colwell. It was Kroll’s first 2008 season win since his June 2007 at the Burg.

Loints leader #40d Dave DeGrave took the inside lane away from #19 Scott Boulanger on his way to the front and his fourth consecutive feature event win in the IMCA Hobby Stock class. Boulanger has three heat wins in three nights of racing, but has come up just short in the feature events.

Sport Four #121 Andy Kleczka and #5 Jesse Heise battled it out for the lead in Friday’s feature event with Kleczka getting the upper hand and the eventual win. second of three heat races.

A total of 147 cars were on hand, including 35 IMCA modifieds, 43 stock cars, 26 northern sportmods, 18 hobby stocks and 25 sport fours.

In the IMCA mod main Kewaunee's Shawn Kilgore finished second in his best run of the year. Former track champion Brian Mullen padded his points lead in the division with a solid third, followed by his brother Scott Mullen and Juneau's Russ Reinwald.

Veteran Charlie Kroll of Forestville emerged triumphant in the 22 lap IMCA stock car feature. Trailing Kroll at the line were Jesse Colwell, Travis Van Straten, John Heinz and Rod Snellenberger.

Shawano's Tracy Wassenberg netted his first 18 lap IMCA northern sportmod feature of the year.

Trailing the defending IMCA Supernationals winner at the line were Adam White, Aaron Holiday, Travis Cain and Travis Van Straten.

Luxemburg's Dave De Grave continued his unbeaten streak in the IMCA hobby stock class, scoring a narrow victory in the 18 lap contest. 2007 rookie-of-the-year Scott Boulanger of Luxemburg fought right down to the wire, leading up until the final lap. Boulanger settled for second, followed by Tom Brumlic, Brandon Peterson and Dean Anhalt.

Suamico's Andy Kleczka won the sport four feature.
